The Japanese laminates are renowned for being of particularly high grade. Describing a guitar in excellent condition is not about being in 'mint' condition, but regarding its structural, and functional condition, sound and play-ability. There are no serious chips or scratches on the guitar which is remarkable for its age but if you are thinking about purchasing a used vintage guitar, you need to accept the fact they may have small cosmetic flaws solely associated with their age, but not related to any particular damage. The action at the 12th fret is a tad over 1/8th. Solid mahogany neck and one side of the tuners have been replaced. Thick solid spruce top with what looks to be laminated mahogany back and side. The pictures inside the guitar show the build quality of this guitar and this is reflected in the gorgeous tones it produces from probably 40 year woods which today's Luthiers would die for and charge an arm and a leg just because of the raw material.
